People skydive for many reasons. Some seek to conquer their fears or push themselves to new limits. Others find a sense of boundless freedom, self expression, and perspective. As a sport, there are many disciplines, including relative work (formations), crw (parachute formations), skysurfing, accuracy, freeflying (like snowboarding was to skiing), and others. Skydiving is a wonderfully sociable sport. Whether for thrill or aesthetics, first time jump or weekend hobby, we welcome you to the skies with us.
What will I learn?
We offer complete training from first jump through advanced
skydiving -- our professional instructors are available each
step along the way, helping students become safe and proficient
skydivers. We offer Accelerated FreeFall, Tandem Progression,
and Static Line Progression training. We are currently the only
dropzone in the valley offering certified AFF instruction.
Students will learn skills for freefall, parachute flight, emergency procedures, and become familiar with their equipment. The ability to perform turns, flips, and dock in formation with other skydivers is taught early in training. Students learn to competently fly their own parachutes, and land without assistance. Upon graduation from training, students continue to learn and improve upon existing skills by jumping with experianced USPA rated coaches.
Tandem Progression
Similar to AFF except that the first three jumps are tandem with an
instructor. Students learn altitude awareness, freefall position,
and will release the parachute on their own. A student then moves
into AFF training three jumps ahead.
AFF
Accelerated Free Fall is a training method where a student makes a
series of full freefall skydives with an AFF rated instructor. This
method offers a student the opportunity to learn important and
exhilerating skills at an exciting pace, while skydiving under direct
supervision and close proximity of a highly qualified instructor.
Because students are experiencing full freefall early in their training
they aquire freefall skills faster than other methods of training.
AFF training encompasses the skills learned in other methods as well.
Static Line
In a static line jump the parachute deployment is initiated by a
kevlar cord which is attached to the airplane and to the parachute worn
by the student. On exit, the student falls away from the plane, and
the cord initiates deployment just moments later. This was one of the
first methods of training and is still available.
